Inquire
Posted: January 18, 2013 | Author: Mika | Filed under: Bartleby the Scrivener |7 CommentsI’m going to assume since there are roughly 30 of you who read this blog daily that you find it at least slightly interesting. And, given how rarely Jarom posts, I’m going to further assume that you think I’m at least slightly interesting.
So today, you get to ask me all your burning questions about my life. Or about parenting or blogging or religion or books or . . . anything else you can think of. Long, short, serious, and flippant questions – I’ll answer them all on Monday. Ever wonder how Jarom proposed? When I started keeping track of the books I read? How I potty-trained Evan? How I handle meal-planning? (Spoiler: I don’t anymore.) Ask away!
Praise and compliments are also accepted.
If you don’t want to leave a comment with a question, you can just email it to me.
Here’s one:
What kinds of lunches and snacks do you prepare for your two toddlers? Sometimes I feel like all I do are pb&j and mac n’ cheese! I’ve been trying to vary Russell’s meals and keep them healthy. I’ve gone to some websites that have stuff like “Your toddler will LOVE this roasted red pepper-dill cream cheese sandwich!” and I’m like, “Uh, yeah, like I have the money or time for that.” By the way, I love reading your blog, Mika!
I hear your husband is super-awesome. What is it like being married to somebody so unabashedly amazing?
Haha! Love it. Are you two as witty to each other daily in real life or does it come out better on line?
What’s an average day like for you? I’m always interested in how other Mom’s days go.
We have known each other for approximately 3 months-ish since we got called into the Young Women Presidency. I want to know (a) What you have learned about me since we met (first impression, etc. would be appropriate here) and (b) Why you don’t hang out with me more often. Unless of course (a) doesn’t really count as a question about your life and then I give you permission to ignore it if you’d like ;)
Oh yes, and I am curious about the other questions you listed in your blog. That is probably why I read your blog, just so I can gain another insight into the life of Mika… I do love your writing style, you have a strong voice, so that makes it fun to read… And since we don’t really hang out though we only live 3 blocks from each other, I have to get updates on your life online…
In answer to (a), my first impression was that you are so much more outgoing and capable with the young women than I am. I just want to hide in a corner because they’re intimidating and there are so many of them. It’s hard for me to feel like I can be in charge of them at all, but you do it so easily! And cheerfully. I’ve never heard you complain or be upset, so you’re either a naturally optimistic and happy person or you’re very good at keeping grumbling to yourself. Either is a good quality. Also, I’m a terrible conversationalist – truly – so whenever I have to actually talk to another person, instead of sitting in my house in pajamas and composing witty blog posts, I can’t think of anything to say. Yet another reason I have trouble socializing.
