Polarn O. Pyret

I just came across the fabulous Swedish company Polarn O. Pyret. I love their designs but was totally smitten when I saw they have an entire category called “Stripes.” When I went to get some new shirts for the Bwun after Christmas, all 3 shirts I brought home were striped. The Romgi just looked at me and shook his head.

Ahh…stripes.

Aside from that little bit of perfection, Polarn O. Pyret has this adorable Little Sis Holiday Dress. Someday I’ll have a little girl, and I’ll dress her in this. Mm.

The Glass Onion jewelry

{Just to be frank, I’m telling you about this because it increases my chances of winning. Not because I want the competition from you.}

Right now at Perch you can enter a giveaway for a pair of vintage post earrings from The Glass Onion. The contest runs through July 8 and all you have to do is comment on the post!

New Obsession

You know how I love microcredit, right? Well, Heifer International basically does microcredit using animals instead of money! It’s brilliant!chicks

They provide cows, sheep, goats, llamas, chickens, geese, ducks, rabbits…the animals are given to poor families worldwide who can then use the livestock for food and income. Additionally, each family is expected to pass on some of the offspring to other needy families.

I think it’s really cool that you can buy (donate, I suppose) a flock of chicks for $20. If you’re having trouble thinking of what to get me for Christmas, might I suggest that you put $5 toward my upcoming purchase from Heifer International? It seems like such a worthwhile effort, and honestly, I don’t need a lot of things this year (the Bwun, however, is another story!).

Think about it!

[Note: other programs I love with similar goals include the LDS Humanitarian Fund and the Perpetual Education Fund.]
