Please help

We’re not going to redecorate the Bwun’s room at all when we have jr (and waste all that effort I made the Romgi put into it?!), but I do have a separate theme I’d like to use for her things – like bedding, crib, and art. It will just be in a space-themed room. I’ve been keeping an eye out for colorful, modern bug-themed items…but it’s a lot trickier than I thought.

Here’s an idea of something I really like:

This Crawling Critters mobile from KLTworks is fun (and, obviously, way too expensive). I had thoughts of cultivating my sewing skills, but I still haven’t finished the Bwun’s baby blanket. So. Let’s not start any big new projects yet.

Some other examples:

The problem with this print from Donnie Wright is that it’s a little too…boy-ish. I don’t want something overwhelmingly cutesy, like this, but it would be nice to find something a little more cheerful. And a little bit girly. Just a little bit.

I do kind of like this:

But what I REALLY want is to find a fun print we can frame and put on the wall. I want this style, but with bugs:

Unfortunately, I don’t know where to search – or even how to search – for such a thing. Internet friends (who I probably know in real life anyway), can you help me? Do you have any suggestions or, better yet, a link for me?

Bears, bananas, bugs

(…and babies! Keep reading for exciting updates on my life.)

You thought I’d never come back, didn’t you?

The Romgi has been back for about two weeks. Just before he got home, I had a not-so-fun experience with the Salt Lake City police: they towed and impounded my car after it was parked on a public street for less than 24 hours, because a neighbor thought it had been there for “a few days.” Thanks to a lot of help from my aunt and uncle, I was able to get my car and the fees back, but what a hassle! Things have been nice and calm since the Romgi’s return, though.

Want to see some of the souvenirs he brought?

an adorable Bwun-sized bear hat

a variety of cool stationery packs, including DONUTS

an adorable almost-Bwun sized Korean soccer outfit

a banana pillow that cries when you peel it

Of course, there were lots of other cool things too, but right now I don’t have pictures or I’m too lazy to upload them. It’s really late, so don’t judge me too much.

We’re gearing up for our big trip – we leave in just a few days for North Carolina! It will be a fun experience (I hope). I figure we’ll never have the chance – or never want – to do such a big road trip once we have more kids, and I definitely don’t want to send the Romgi off on his own again.

Oh yeah, and did you hear the fantastic news?

Baby Girl coming this fall! We had to go buy some sandals for the Bwun yesterday (one from each pair we own has mysteriously disappeared), and while we were at Babies R Us, I got this cute little outfit for $5 just in case we found out today the Oeuf is a girl:

Bright colors and bugs? Yes, I’m sold. And so excited for a girl!

I don’t know how often I’ll have internet access once we leave next week, but I’ll take lots of pictures and write updates to post whenever I can. First stop: Denver.

Spring sprung, messy house

…and other random thoughts.

I know the Romgi is absolutely embarrassed by this, but I am not: I bought a Snuggie. It is dreadfully warm and comfortable. I know May is a ridiculous time of year to get one; unfortunately, we don’t control the temperature in our apartment, since the thermostat is located upstairs. And I guess it just stays a lot (lot lot lot) warmer upstairs, which means the air conditioning has been on a lot (lot lot lot) recently. Even with the vents closed, I’m cold.

I’ve read three more books in the past week or so – a Sherlock Holmes book (my first!), the final book in the Fablehaven series, and Leviathan by Scott Westerfeld. Reviews will probably not be up until after this weekend, when the Romgi leaves for Korea (without me. Sniff sniff).

We had our house clean last week on Sunday and Monday because friends came to dinner both days. But, all the dishes from cooking and serving food just sort of piled up, and now our house is very much not clean. One of these days, it will be beautiful. I hope.

Have you ever had Ben & Jerry’s Fossil Fuel ice cream? It’s my favorite, and I thought it had been discontinued. Turns out they just don’t sell it anywhere in Utah. Grumble grumble grumble! I guess I’ll have to take a trip to California this fall! (Can I wait that long?!)

Also, I like this dress. The end.
