Gifts for Me.
Posted: January 22, 2010 Filed under: Treasure Island 1 CommentI’m thinking of starting a regular feature on this blog – things that would make good gifts for me. I know you think I’m hard to shop for, so this should help. What do you think?
We’ll start with this amazing print from Etsy seller hillarybird (no relation):
It may not be your cup of tea, but this is right up my alley. And I have a blank wall in my bedroom just waiting for a copy of this goat. Valentine’s Day is coming up soon! (Please only give me a Valentine’s Day gift if you are the Romgi. Otherwise, it will be awkward. Thanks.)
Appleskibrjfdsz…what?
Posted: December 4, 2008 Filed under: James and the Giant Peach, Treasure Island 2 CommentsLast night as I was on my way to pick up the Romgi from work, I got a call from my cousin offering tasty appleskibrjfdsz something-or-others that she was making for an Enrichment activity. She described them as being Danish pancake-y ball things and quite delicious. Since everything she’s ever made (that I’ve eaten) has been good, and everyone likes free food especially, we stopped by.
The little appleskibrjfdszs are actually called ebelskivers (yeah…totally), and they’re made in the world’s coolest specialty cooking dish. Seriously, look at it!
It really was made from pancake-like batter, but cooked into those beautiful little shapes and then you put butter and powdered sugar on them to make it extra fantastic. Oh my. It was so good.
And now I “need” an ebelskiver pan so I can invite people over and awe them with my Danish pancake-y things! They even have one on Amazon for the low, low price of $8.99! (I suspect it’s a somewhat cheaper version than the Williams Sonoma one linked in the image. Ha.)
